Hi all,
This would be a weird and specific scenario. We are running 2960X in stacking, IOS version 15.0(2)EX5
There is a WD MyCloud EX4 NAS storage come with 2 gigabit ports.
No matter what is the network configuration and load balancing mode (adaptive load balance / 802.3ad / non-redundancy) on EX4, we notice the port is running
LAN1 (EX4) connect to gi1/0/2 (100M,full)
LAN2 (EX4) connect to gi2/0/2 (1000M, full)
Yes we have tried to swap the cable and replace new CAT6 cable ( 5m), the behavior is still the same.
While I hardcode the link speed on EX4 to 1000:
GI1/0/2 ( disconnect)
GI2/0/2 ( 1000M full)
Initially we thought it was EX4's issue, so i connect LAN1 and LAN2 to another HP 1910-48G switch.
It is magically working fine, both port connected at 1000M full.
port configuration:
switchport mode access
switchport nonegotiate
no cdp enable
spanning-tree portfast
spanning-tree bpdufilter enable
spanning-tree guard root
switchport port-security
switchport port-security aging time 10
tried disable port-security but it wont help

Hello
And both switches in that 2960 stack support 1gb correct? -
If you swap the connections around do you still get the same output?
Have you tried to defaulting the ports
conf t
default int range gig1/0/2 , gig2/0/2
int range gig1/0/2 , gig2/0/2
siwtchport host
By the way do you really need spanning-tree bpdufilter enabled on the interface?

Thanks Paul for the hint,
I default the port, unfortunately the outcome it still same.

beside speed and duplex what are other configuration can effect ethernet layer?

Appreciate some help up
