Hi, I got a WLC and I log to the Web Interface, when trying to setup the AP I see there is a kind of status that reads: Operational Status: Downloading, what's supposed to be downloaded.

Thanks

When a new WAP is plugged to the network, it searches for the WLC.  Once the WAP finds the WLC it will synchronize with the WLC.  One of the things it will synchronize is whether or not the WAP is running the correct IOS.  If not, the WLC will "push" the correct IOS to the 3500.

This is what you are seeing.  Depending on your WLC and the firmware you are running, this will take around 5 minutes before the WAP will reboot and operate the new IOS.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, I have connected 2 WAP directly to the WLC and have been there for many hours, but keeps in the same status... What do you think about that?

Thanks

Now that's not right at all.

What is the version of your WLC firmware?

Have you tried to console into the AP and post the output to the command "sh version" and "sh logs"?

WLC =

Software Version                 7.0.98.0

AP =

Primary Software Version

7.0.112.74

This I took them from the WLC admin interface...

Have not connected with console...

While not having the proper IOS I cant assign an IP to the AP right? I tried but no success....

I'm not really a big fan of the 7.0.98.0 firmware.  The AP has a higher firmware than the WLC.  Weird.

Can you console into the AP and post the output for the command "dir" please?
