I have a 3750-X stack that I need to upgrade from LAN base to IP base.
Since it was urgent I generated eval licenses from cisco.com
The installation of the license files seemed to work fine.
Though .... when I rebooted the stack I lost unit 2:
Switch/Stack Mac Address : 4055.3985.ac80
H/W Current
Switch# Role Mac Address Priority Version State
----------------------------------------------------------
*1 Master 4055.3985.ac80 10 1 Ready
2 Member 0000.0000.0000 0 1 Provisioned
And the first one is still on LAN base feature ...
License Level: lanbase
License Type: Permanent
Next reload license Level: lanbase

... and now I'm stuck ...
Any ideas what to do?
For me it seems like Cisco's license functionality is premature ... This just HAS to work.

Hi,
Yes i totally agree with Reza.
From the stack master you should be able to install evaluation license for each of your member switch in the stack.
By doing so you would accept the EULA - which is also called End User License Agreement (EULA).
From the output that you have displayed here on the dicussion we see see that "show license detail" shows EULA not accepted for both the switches.
Which means the command "license boot level ipservices switch no" was not given for that switch which didnt come up with the correct license.
Even after you giving this command and accpeting the EULA, the next boot level doesnt change then you'll probably get a error message that needs to be looked in the logs.
Here is a discussion that might be of help:

Hope this helps.

It's like you activated the licence for one equipment only. Can you stop the stack and update the other unit independently?

Jörgen,
You need to install license to both devices in your stack. However that can be done from the stack master.
Also, once the license installed successfully, before rebooting, you need to change the boot command so the switch boots with the correct freature set
eaxmple:
config t
C3750-E(config)#license boot level ipservices switch 1

I managed to get the two switches on the same level (ipbase now).
But I still do not see switch 2 in the stack .... Will boot it tomorrow and I suppose that will help.

Both switches came up with correct license after rebooting them.
... but I noticed that I forgot to set the clock on the switches... so what if I now change the clock? I Suppose that the eval license will stop working?
