3845 Hardware Failure

Hello All,

I'm fairly confident I know what's going on here, but I want to be certain before I deem a router unuseable.

I booted up a 3845 router that had been in storage for probably about 1.5 years, and expected to have to break into and reset the password, but I didn't have to. The old startup-config for the router did not load, and it spit out a lot NVRAM errors on boot. Once booted I tried setting a username and password and writing the running-config to the startup-config, but received an error about a "failure to initialize NVRAM geometry", tried erasing the startup-config and got the same error.

All attempts to do anything with the NVRAM result in errors, so would I be correct in thinking that it's unreadable/unwritable/fried?

The DRAM may need to be cleaned and re-attached.

I cleaned it out and it booted without errors. Thanks Leo.
