We have installed several Catalyst 3850 48 port switches on campus. I have run into 3 incidences where a system connected to the port will not work (different buildings and different switches). A wire scope of the port reveled no problems, port security was off, and there were no log messages other than port up/down. I was not able to see a mac address of the system connected to the port. A different system exhibited the same behavior on the same port. Moved to a different port and all is well. This the 3rd (separate) switch that has done this. Has anyone else seem this?
Thanks

There is a bug CSCui93088 that describes this behavior, however it is with poe ports.
This fix is to do a
shut/no shut
or
plug a non poe device into the port, then plug the poe device back into the port and all is well.
Hope this helps...

Thanks for rating, but I wish you should select the Charles Hill's response as the correct one, not my moderator's notice ...
