3850 QOS setup

We currently have 3750s and 6500s throughout our network. We have some new sites coming online soon so we will be moving to the newer 3850 switches. Our 3750 switchstacks are currently setup using cos based on the "auto qos srnd4" command sets that automatically configure cos for our ports. We modify specific ports as necessary and use dscp for our layer 3 connections to the core switches.

I haven't starting configuring any 3850s yet but what is the functionality like for qos?  Do they have the same type of auto setup for cos on the switchports or have they moved onto a layer 3 dscp type of autoconfig for the qos? Any example of a 3850 switch config attachable for viewing? We definitely want to use the auto qos setup if possible and with layer 3 dscp if possible however if there is a lot of manual reconfiguration we may change our minds. Thanks! .

3850s use auto qos and when applied there is automatic maps that are created and applied , that can be tweaked if necessary but unless you have something non standard should work fine

Aswell they trust DSCP marking so if a phone generates marks EF packet switch will honour it by default in platform which makes ut bit smarter than the older platforms

Egress DSCP46 785075370     0
