3850 Stack Priority

I have a stack of 3. When they came up, the following occurred:

Switch/Stack Mac Address : 28c7.ce3b.e480 - Local Mac Address
Mac persistency wait time: Indefinite
                                             H/W   Current
Switch#   Role    Mac Address     Priority Version  State
------------------------------------------------------------
 1       Member   6cfa.895a.d600     1      M0      Ready
*2       Active   28c7.ce3b.e480     10     M0      Ready
 3       Standby  6cfa.894f.7c00     5      M0      Ready

If I type "switch 1 priority 15" I get the prompt about config, hit yes, and still... (I should add I am not in conf t)

Why won't switch 1's priority change?

Go into configuration mode and you should be able to change priority.  A reboot is necessary of switch 2 to hand-over the master stack assignment to switch 1.
