hi - i have enabled pim on a 3925 router and it creates a tunnel interface.
this appears to route traffic to the rp over the tunnel interface
if i enable pim on its neighbour router i lose connectivity to the 3925
so basically i have 2 directly connected routers - a 3925 and a 3845
when i apply the following command to the 3845 i lose connectivity to the 3925
ip pim rp-address 192.168.1.1 1
ip pim spt-threshold infinity group-list 1
can anyone help ?
thanks

Hi Paul,
When you say you loose connectivity, do you mean when you do a "sh ip pim nei" there is no neighbor?

Hi all,
I have a 2911 with IOS 15.0. It looks like you affirm: it creates a tunnel for every rp-mapping address using as the destination address for every tunnel. But, in my case, don´t lose connectivity. Of course, the statistics of these tunnels have 0 packets in & out.
I would appreciate if someone can tell me if this behaviour can be override. We have automatic tools that take statistics form interfaces and these tunnels make some noise.
Thks.
