4500 configure VSS??

Can our 4500 configure VSS??
I'm curious about a few things.

1. Does SUP-8E support VSS??

2. Can I mix Fiber+UTP for etherchannel connection?

3. After configuring VSS, can I turn off VSS again to operate the two 4500 independently?

1. Does SUP-8E support VSS??

--> Yes. SUP-8E supports VSS. Check the hardware requirements in Table 5-1 in the document linked below. <=Make sure both supervisors have the same license level.

2. Can I mix Fiber+UTP for etherchannel connection?

--> No problem, as long as alll member links have the same speed/duplex settings.

3. After configuring VSS, can I turn off VSS again to operate the two 4500 independently?

--> Use the command 'switch convert mode stand-alone' on both switches to convert them back to standalone switches (check the link below).
