Hi,

We have two 4506E interconnected with tengigabitethernet card on WS-X45-SUP6-E.

Since 2 months, we have performance problem on network.

On 4506E the CPU are in 100%, the HSRP flapping and EIGRPdown.

The 4506E version is Version 12.2(53)SG.

I don't find any issue. Have you an idea ?

Thank for your help.

Hello Yann,

this is only the symptom that HSRP is not working correctly

Use the following link to troubleshoot high cpu on C4500 switches

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/switches/ps663/products_tech_note09186a00804cef15.shtml

If nothing else works you have to consider the option to isolate ( disable all links to  one of the switches)  or  to power off one of the two switches to see if the network can be restored.

if HSRP is flapping and EIGRP is down your network is not working correctly,  restoring network connectivity should be your first target.

it is high time to solve this issue. The network has not been in use up to now

Hope to help

Giuseppe

Make sure you don't have any debug standby command enable because it could cause high CPU utilization

Thanks, RG
