If you issue "wr erase" it will delete all the config, than save and than add the boot statement, save again, verify the boot statement exist (show boot) and also in sh run, and than reboot.
One more thing to add to Reza is that about the vlan.dat file in case if you dont want the vlan configured to be present you need to run this command:-
delete flash:vlan.dat
wr
reload
