802.1X Authentication fail open

Hi

I have SW-2960X (OS -15.2) configured to authenticate users through RADIUS server.

I want to configure the authentication fail-open commands to grant users access to network if Radius server goes down.

But the required commands (per to Documentation) are not supported in switch!!

Switch(config)# interface fastethernet X/Y

Switch(config-if)# dot1x critical

Switch(config-if)# dot1x critical recovery action reinitialize

Switch(config-if)# dot1x critical vlan X

Any Idea?

Thanks

Hi,

You need to look at the config document for the 2960-X

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/lan/catalyst2960x/software/15-2_2_e/consolidated_guide/configuration_guide/b_1522e_consolidated_2960x_cg/b_consolidated_152ex_2960-X_cg_chapter_0101101.html

From IOS ver 12.2.50 onwards we now use

authentication event

under the interfaces to select what happens in server failures etc

Have a look at the doc and see what you want to happen Regards

Alex
