Hi everyone,
About to implement StackWise Virtual and just had a question about the configuration.
We currently have one C9500-16X in production, we’ve just purchased another and getting ready to implement.
Plan is to configure the existing switch as the master by defining a higher priority.
Once StackWise is formed will all the previous configuration still exist?
I assume it does but just wanting to double check as I haven’t been able to test this prior to implementation.

Hello @dorchard83 ,
the configuration should be kept as the already powered on device should be the master.
However, making a backup of the configuration is recommended.
see the following thread

Hope to help

Thanks for the reply @Giuseppe Larosa,
One other question, I'll be upgrading the current 9500 from 16.8.1a to 16.12.3a, which will mean there's a requirement to configure the smart licencing call home.
Does is matter if this is configured before or after the StackWise virtual is configured?
