Hi

I' m going to add a new 3750X Switch to an existing stack. The existing stack is build of two 3750X switchs with different feature sets:

show switch detail

*1 Master xxxx.xxxx.xxxx 15 3 Ready ==> Iicense level ipservices WS-C3750X-12S-E
2 Member yyyy.yyyy.yyyy 10 3 Ready==> license level ipbase WS-C3750X-48T-S

now i want to add switch Nr 3

License level ipservices WS-C3750X-12S-E. The Software image of all switchs is the same C3750E-UNIVERSALK9-M

My question is if i stack switch Nr. 3, does it becom switch number 3 or number 2?

If the the switch becomes Number 2 is there any service interruptions or downtime?

Thanks for support and regards

Daniel

Normally, the new switch would join with the next available switch member number, unless you're dealing with pre-provisioned switches.

Hello Joseph

I will give you the feedback as soon i add the switch to the stack.

Best Regards Daniel

Hi,

Agree with Joesph.

Ensure you connect the new switch powered off and connected the stack cables to avoid any unwanted disruptions.
