I have zero familiarity with the Cisco CLI other than resetting my Cisco 891 to default and initializing it for a simple NAT. Currently got Cisco Configuration Professional working to setup my DHCP pools and VLAN, but now am moving onto QoS for our business phones. However, the only thing I can able to do on the QoS is to let it setup an automatic QoS profile using NBAR and then applying that profile to the WAN port of the router. So with that setup, do I just plugin our two Polycom IP phones and everything should be good or is there more?
In our old router, QoS was much more simplified. All I had to do was click on a port number, then assign it a QoS value of "minimize delay, maximize reliability, minimize cost, or normal cost." But the Cisco thing takes it to a fine grain detail that is beyond my grasp. We have 4 protocols primarily used in our business and want to setup the following:
1. Highest Reliability for EFT transactions
2. Minimize Delay for VoIP (2 Polycom phones, 1 tenant using Vonage, with port forwarding open to it)
3. Minimize Cost priority for tenants sharing the wifi connection
4. Normal Priority for our 4 DVR machines
But looking at the Cisco CP, I don't know how to make the connection between what I'm trying to achieve and what the Cisco options are allowing me.
Some pointers would be greatly appreciated.
