I have an issue where I simply want to get point-to-point connectivity between my 6509 switch and a customer router sitting right next to each other. This was previously working and suddenly stopped.
On the switch I have a layer 3 interface and then the physical interface is an access port. On the switch side I am getting an incomplete arp entry. On the customer router side, they are seeing the arp entry (with correct mac address) even after they clear the arp table but are unable to ping my layer 3 interface. I am not seeing any mac address entries coming through the switchport from the router on the other side.
I have swapped out the cable and changed ports on the 6509 with the same results. Any ideas?
