Hi everybody.
Let say we need to request a publicly accessible " AS" and " Ip address block" assignment for our network.
What are our options? Can we just contact a ISP and that isp can assign us a publicly accessible " AS" and Ip address block?
Or we can only request IANA for such assigments ?
Thanks and Happy new year to every body!!

Hello Sarah,
public AS numbers and public IP address blocks have to be requested to RIRs ( Regional Internet Registry).
For US is ARIN
www.arin.net
see
https://www.arin.net/resources/resource_requests/
in europe is RIPE
www.ripe.net
each RIR has its own procedures and application forms for requesting resources.
there are also APNIC, LACNIC and may be some other one.
IANA is above the RIRs.
Hope to help
