Using ASDM 6.4(5), ASA 8.2(5) on an ASA 5505,I followed a YouTube video titled "Cisco ASA 5505 Firewall NAT & Access rule creation Part 2". It was largely what I wanted and successful, but one part tripped me up. Per the video I created some objects for internal & external addresses, NAT rules to map them, and then this Access Rule:
Interface: outside
Action: Permit
Source: any
Destination: outside
Service: tcp/22, etc.
This worked for a test configuration. But after resetting the router to factory defaults and repeating the procedure, it failed until I changed the Destination from outside to any. This seems trivial, but I'd like to understand it.
