ASR 9001 Control Plane connections/clustering?

I am looking at a deployment to a colo with a pair of 10 Gb links to a pair of ASR 9001, to a pair of switches to connect to a main site. Do the two 10Gb Control plane connections turn the two routers into a single routing instance?  For example, instead of having two BGP peer IP's, two separate BGP routing tables, two OSPF instances, I can have one single instance on both routers, in a HA sense of configuration?  I am also looking to have two VRF/MPLS networks off of these over the 10 Gb links back to an pair of routers at two different sites interconnected via trunks back into the core network. The vrf at the core will split off to separate interfaces off the 9001 to a DMZ/Internet network.

Yes.

The Cisco ASR 9000 Series nV Edge System appears as a single switch or router to the neighboring devices.
