The best way to monitor network utilization is to use Network Monitoring Tools and technology. This would involve installing SNMP/RMON/Netflow management stations. Once this is done, SNMP/RMON/Netflow agent software can be enabled and configured on the switch. This will send raw data regarding traffic statistics to the stations which, when configured properly, will give you details regarding VLAN utilization, type of traffic seen on the network,etc.
There are several books available that describe how to setup Network
Monitoring. There is no built-in feature or bundled software in the switch to monitor network utilization.
