Hello all,
Just arrived in the lab: 2x C3750X but i just can't get stack-power to work.
First,
These switches are non-PoE: 2x WS-C3750X-48T-S
Can someone confirm that stack power is going to work for these switches ? I am not concerned about powering edge devices, just
the switch itself. For example: one switch has dual power supplies, the second one not. If the power fails of the last one, one of the dual supplies
of the first switch, should power the second switch in the stack.
Second,
I have connected my powerstack cables, but all ports remain SHUT no matter what i try:
Do i need to unshut the ports ? Or is this automatically ?
Switch# sh stack-power
Power stack name: Powerstack-2
Stack mode: Power sharing
Stack topology: Standalone
Switch 2:
Power budget: 223
Low port priority value: 22
High port priority value: 5
Switch priority value: 4
Port 1 status: Shut
Port 2 status: Shut
Neighbor on port 1: 0000.0000.0000
Neighbor on port 2: 0000.0000.0000
Power stack name: TEST
Stack mode: Power sharing
Stack topology: Standalone
Switch 1:
Power budget: 223
Low port priority value: 20
High port priority value: 13
Switch priority value: 4
Port 1 status: Shut
Port 2 status: Shut
Neighbor on port 1: 0000.0000.0000
Neighbor on port 2: 0000.0000.0000
Third,
I am running version 12.2(55)SE1
And i am running ipbase software:
License Level: ipbase
License Type: Permanent
Next reload license Level: ipbase
Fourth,
Do i need a full-loop power stack configuration ? Otherwise: between two switches, do i need to connect two powerstack cables, or is a single
powerstack cable also enough to make it work ?
Am i missing something fundamental here ?
regards,
Geert
