2 questions, actually:
1. Which port is which?
2. Why am I seeing ten gig ports in the switch config?
I have "inherited" a stack of 3 3750x-48's. Each one has its own C3KX-NM-1G module with 4 ports.
Each C3KX-NM-1G has 2 GLC-SX-MM gbics installed, with fiber in each module. All is working fine.
In poking around the config of these switches, I notice the following ports:
Gi1/1/1 up up Trunk to LL
Gi1/1/2 up up Trunk to 4th Floor
Gi1/1/3 down down
Gi1/1/4 down down
Te1/1/1 down down
Te1/1/2 down down
QUESTIONS:
1. There are 6 ports listed, but only 4 physical ports. Which physical ports do the Te1/1/1 and Te1/1/2 ports refer to? I know on the C3KX-NM-10G module, physical ports 2 and 4 are the 10GB ports, and they are marked that way (g2/te1, g4/te2). The ports on the C3KX-NM-1G modules are only marked G1-G4.
2. My understanding is that the C3KX-NM-1G is *not* a 10GB module, and can't handle, for instance, a GLC-10G-T-A SFP+ gbic. But...why am I seeing ten gig ports listed? Can the those ports be used for 10GB? Specifically, can I use a GLC-10G-T-A SFP+ gbic in these ports? I'm pretty sure the answer is "no"...I'm just confused as to why they would be listed in the config.
Thanks for any help you can give!
