Dear All,
In Zabbix, its show C6509 switch is unreachable. When I trying to access C6509 via putty, unable to access so I use console. When I do show cdp neighbors, there's no entries. Unable to ping other hosts.
But the switch C4506 & C6509E connected to C6509 is able to ping other hosts. But when I do a show cdp neighbors in C4506 and C6509E there's entries of C6509.
I wonder what goes wrong to the C6509 switch?? Please advise me as Im newbie in networking.

If I am reading it correctly you cannot see a 6509, if this 6500 is conencted to another 6500 with VSS then they act as one switch and therefore not seeing the second 6509 is normal behaviour.
Check out this link for a full explanation of VSS:

Thanks Rob for ur help..
Actually I have 4 core switches, C6509 is a pair of old core switch which currently still in use but in later future will be shut down. For unknown reasons, Im not sure why it cannot be ping via other switches and cannot be access thru telnet as previously Im able to access it via telnet & able to ping it.
Please advise me. Thank u.

Lee,
You may want to open a TAC case for this one which can be done from this window as we will probably need to troubleshoot via a webex to resolve this.
Click on the “Open Service Request” link located within the “Actions” widget on the right sight of the screen. A separate window will be launched from your browser opening the Service Request UI. Please refer to the Cisco Support page
