The 6500 sup has multiple locations to store files.
Disk 0 is the external compact flash.
Bootflash is the built in flash on the supervisor. Remember sup 720 is architecturally divided in to RP engine and SP engine. Here bootflash refers to the flash portion of the RP and sup-bootflash(also called sup-bootdisk) refers to the flash of SP engine. Use
sh file system
to chek all of them and understand

It is similar to other devices. You need to load the IOS to any of these locations and set the boot statement correctly.
boot system disk0:<ios name>.
Then reload the device. it will boot with the new Image. Hope this helps you clear some confusion.
