Can't Ping end users through fiber trunk but can through normal cat5 trunk

Greetings,

Have anyone ran into this problem?  I established a fiber trunk from switch to switch. I can ping switch to switch but not the end users.  However, when I create a trunk through normal Cat5 everything works fine!  Any ideas?

Thanks.

Hi,

It should not matter whether or not you use copper of fiber.  The cable is just a physical layer for you to connect and as long as both connections come up they should work the same way.  There may be a difference in interface configurations.  Can you post the configs for both switches and both copper and fiber connections?

HTH

yes. you need to share config

Hi Jason!

Have you checked if the fiber interface goes to a up/up state to?

Regards!
