Cannot create more than 507 vlans in N3K-C3048TP-1GE nexus switch!

Hi,

I'm not able to create more than 507 vlans in nexus layer 2 switch "N3K-C3048TP-1GE". Switch version is

  kickstart image file is: bootflash:/n3000-uk9-kickstart.5.0.3.U2.2b.bin
  kickstart compile time:  11/23/2011 13:00:00 [11/23/2011 21:50:29]
  system image file is:    bootflash:/n3000-uk9.5.0.3.U2.2b.bin"

sh resource vlan

(config-vlan)# vlan 607
ERROR: No VLAN resource available for VLAN creation

 Number of existing extended VLANs : 0

Does anybody know what's the reason and how to resolve it? Our network topology is "route-on-a-stick"

Can I go for MST mode with existing topology(route-on-a-stick)?

Hello,

the configuration limit for the N3K is:

507 VLANs in PVRST mode. 512 VLANs in RPVST mode where 507 are user-defined VLANs, and 4,000 VLANs in MST mode.

So you need to be in MST mode in order to be able to create 4000 VLANs...
