Hello all

I have a question.

switch model : ws-c2960x-48ts-l

Configuration

- user device is connected to switch. user device use DM9161A(davicom semiconductor) Phy.

- switch setting

  switchport access vlan 10

  switchport mode access

  speed 100

  duplex full

  no cdp enable

  spanning-tree portfast

problem :

1) switch and user device's link status is up(100M/full)

2) switch don't receive packet that user device transmitted

   * input packet count : not increase (show interfaces interface_name)

   * input error : not increase (show interfaces interface_name)

   * user device's mac is not learned at switch's port (show mac address-table)

   * switch have no error disabled status. (show interfaces status err-disabled)

3) user device receive packet normally that switch transmitted.

4) if user device is connected to other device directly without switch, it works well.

5) also, if user device is connect to other small switch(only L2 switching function), then small switch is connect to cisco switch, it works well

Can you help me what is wrong ?

or what do user device have a problem.

please help me.

Hi

Have you tried negotiating speed duplex on the switch interface:

speed auto

duplex auto

Cisco Catalyst 2960-X and 2960-XR Series Switches support the following on-device management features:

●   Web UI via Cisco Configuration Professional. Configuration Professional provides a user interface for day-zero provisioning, which enables easy onboarding of the switch. Configuration Professional also has an intuitive dashboard for configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting the switch . For more information about Cisco Configuration Professional, please refer to: https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/cloud-systems-management/configuration-professional/index.html?dtid=osscdc000283.

Hello,

on a side note, looking at the data sheet for the DM9161A, this appears to be an ancient adapter (2005), so I am not sure you will get it to work properly with the 2960X.
