CCP Express wont install on 2821 router

Hello everyone,

I am trying to install Cisco Configuration Professional 2.4 Express on my 2821 router. During the installation process, I get notified there is 0 bytes available of routers flash memory. When I run a show flash: command, I receive the following error:

The output of the show version (edited) command is:

After some reading on Cisco site, I saw that 2800 routers do not support internal flash, but only CF cards. What I would like to know is how can I install CCP Express on CF card?

CCP is ment to be installed on a workstation or a laptop, not on a router. It is used to configure the device.

CCP adds, removed, changes aspects of the running and startup config files.

Thank you for your reply. My plan was to install it as a web interface, just like SDM could. Any sugestions how to proceed, since SDM is not supported any more?

Hi,

It's the same as for SDM, enable http/https server,authentication local for http/https,username with a privilege level of 15, telnet/ssh on vty

then put an ip on ethernet interface and install CCP on PC on same subnet and start CCP.

You'll have the New Community window pop up, in here put the ip address and username/password of priv 15 user and then discover device.

Next is like SDM.

Hello Alain,

I did all the preparation steps on the router, enabled http server, created local user, done all that.. I than started CCP Express from a network host, selected the option to install it on the router, entered IP address, credentials.. The thing is setup stops when it detects that router does not have enough flash memory, like I described in the first post.

I`d appreciate some ideas

Do not use CCP express, use CCP installed on a machine.
