I'm using a 7606 with sup 720 and policy feature card 3B.
This PFC supports a maximum number of 239k CEF table entries. I know that a PFC card upgrade will take me to 1M CEF entries but this may not be an option in the near future and I could be running out of space in a couple of months.
This is an Internet facing edge router, so the vast majority of this is taken up by BGP routes.
Does anyone have suggestions as to how to trim the CEF table without majorly impacting CEF switching performance?
Is there a CEF table aging time?
How do other people manage their CEF table size when PFC upgrade is not an option?
Any advice gratefully received!
