Hi,
just to confirm my thoughts around changing mst configuration in a region.
If I have several switches in the same mst region, and need to change the mst configuration to map new vlans to instances, I guess the following will happen:
add a vlan to an mst instance configuration on one switch, and it will establish a new mst region as the configuration is no longer matching the old region, which again will cause stp algorithm to run, and if applying changes to the root bridge a new root bridge will be elected.
I am apprehensive to making any changes like this in production. Is there a Cisco best practice to make changes to the mst configuration?
