Hello everyone,
Well i have been using Cisco 3845 router which has two gigabit interfaces but now it has been crashed and nothing is working. I also have Cisco 2801 which has two Fast Ethernet ports, i want to use this router but has no gigabit functionality. Can i use two HWIC's cards of gigabit ethernet functionality on this router, does this router would be able to support 2 HWIC's ??? Confused
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi Talha,
The 2801 does support the HWIC-1GE-SFP module, but you can only install "1" in this chassis

Hi Talha,
As per link shared Alex the HWIC-1GE has a support with cisco 2801 but check out the below link for 2800 series router and check for question which is having answer in Table 5, Where it states HWIC-1GE-SFP is not supported with cisco 2801.

Hope it Helps..
