Cisco 2960 Switch using teraterm screen is blank

Hi Everyone

I have a Cisco switch that when powered on gives me a blank screen in teraterm

What I have tried so far

1. switched console cables with one that works on another switch
2. verified correct COM port
3. used a lap to with serial converter and without on a regular PC using windows 7
4. check setup with device settings in device manager

Any suggestions?

 1) Try another switch (make sure the intial one isn't dead (e.g.)) - 2) Check baudrate  and on/of settings  3) Tap the space bar when the switch is booting; it may auto-detect 2)
