Cisco 2960X-48FPD-L console stops working after POST.

Hi all,

I have an issue with some 2960X switches.

They seem to be booting fine. The image is on flash (or tried loading the image from TFTP with same results). My current image is: c2960x-universalk9-mz.152-2.E5.bin.

The issue is that the switches stop giving me console output after this lines:

POST: ACT2 Authentication : Begin
POST: ACT2 Authentication : End, Status Passed

Those are the last two lines I can see and then no more console output.

Hope somebody here can provide some light on this matter. Right now have 4 switches with the same exact issue.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

It could be a problem with the image, if you have still contract a ticket should be opened with the Cisco TAC.

I tried loading a lower image too: c2960x-universalk9-mz.152-2.E4

Still the same issue on the same units. Do you think is worth it trying and even lower image?

You could try but if you already made tests with other image, it could be a problem with the hardware, is it a new switch?

No, they are used.

Try to make a downgrade otherwise I recommend to open a case with the Cisco TAC.

Hi,

Can you try a different terminal emulation like Putty or SecureCRT?

If the results are the same, you may want to contact Cisco TAC.

HTH

I am using Putty now. It works fine with same cable and Putty on another 2960-X.
