Cisco 3650 Upgrade LAN Base to IP Services - SmartNet Changes Required

If I have an existing Cisco 3650 LAN Base switch, WS-C3650-24TS-L, and then want to upgrade to IP Services, does the LifeTime Limited Warranty(LLW) still cove the switch?  Reviewing documentation, I am confused on if you need to add SmartNet, and what level of SmartNet.  Is there a document(s) that describe these process(es)?

• After I upgrade to IP Services, what coverage do I have under the LLW?
• LLW only covers LAN Base image, IP Services image requires SmartNet?
• The original switch PID, WS-C3650-24TS-L, stays the same.  How do you add Smartnet for IP Services, or do you add SmartNet based on the PID/SN?
• The cost of SmartNet differs between LAN Base and IP Services, just saying!
• When I purchase an upgrade, LAN Base to IP Services, should I also be purchasing SmartNet based on IP Services?

Licensing and warranty/Smartnet are 2 different things. You pay for the license (it is a one time fee) to upgrade from LAN Base to IP services. You purchase warranty/Smartnet for so many years to be able to download IOS and do RMAs.
