Hi all,
As per title , can cisco 3750 support switching of IPv6 packets between 2 IPv6 devices ?
PC A Configure with IPv6 ------> Cisco 3750(Layer 2 basic switching function, factory default setting) <------------ PC B configure with IPv6.
Can PC A ping to PC B ?
For my understanding it should be working as it is just switching at Frame level when the IPv6 packets hit to the ingress port of Cisco 3750 and egress to another port.
Thanks for the help.

Errr ... What feature set?
Cisco Layer 2 switch can move packets because the Catalyst switch don't see IP address.

Hi, thanks for the quick reply.
Cisco IOS Software, C3750 Software (C3750-IPBASE-M), Version 12.2(35)SE5, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)
just a question when PC A send ping to PC B, when 3750 receive the ping, will it able to read the destination IPv6 and get the mac address of PC B to build up the ARP table inside the 3750 ?

Hi,
if the switch operates at L2 then it doesn't use ARP or IPv6 ND but it will learn MAC address by looking at SRC MAC in the frame ingress on a port as all L2 switches do.
Regards.
Alain.
