Cisco 3750X StackWise

Dears, good morning.

I was checking for a stack by typing #show switch ... the command output shows an unreal status as it should be. For unity7 should not be the Master, but unity1. And at the output of the command shows that the neighbors connections are all inverted, I went physically to the stacking, and the connections are correct, cascade, complete ring, inconsistent with the command output. Will restarting stacking solve the problem?

Yes. Restart the entire stack will force the stack member with a Priority of 15 to be the master.

And will the stacking connections return to the default? Because the output of the command does not match as it is physically.

Hello

I wouldn’t just restart the whole stack at once at there is a chance that the designated master won’t become the master

if there is a delay in any of the switches coming up and its long enough and even if one of these delayed switchs has the highest switch priority it won’t be elected as master as it will be excluded from the already ran election it missed.

So when powerinf up a stack I always power up the master first then wait 30-40 secs and then power up the master standby and then the member switches last
