This is Chandramouli, we have been cisco 3850 switches in stack with IOS version of 03.03.03SE, Now I want to upgrade the IOS of lattest version. Kindly suggest which version is suitable to upgrade IOS.
Either 03.06.08E or 16.3.6 are recommended releases. I personally have been using 16.3.x in the access-layer at both Layer2 and Layer3 for several months without issue.
Read the Release Notes. If the stack is doing nothing but simple layer 2 function with static VLAN assignments (and no PBR) then the LATEST 16.3.X is fine. If the stack is doing more advance functions like 802.1x, then the LATEST 3.6.X or 3.7.X is better.
