Hi all,
How is "input" and "output" for an interface define ?
If there is "traffic" routed/switched from within the switch and waiting to be send out by an interface, is that consider "input" or "output" ?
e.g. traffic comes into gi1/0/1 and need to be send out from gi1/0/2) , is that "traffic"consider as input to gi1/0/2 or output for gi1/0/2 ?
====
While reading Cisco 3850 FNF, the following confused me extremely.
If you apply a flow monitor in the input direction:
• Use the match keyword and use the input interface as a key field.
• Use the collect keyword and use the output interface as a collect field. This field will be present in the exported records but with a value of 0.
• If you apply a flow monitor in the output direction:
• Use the match keyword and use the output interface as a key field.
• Use the collect keyword and use the input interface as a collect field. This field will be present in the exported records but with a value of 0.
So i apply a flow in input direction so as to monitor input traffic, but the collect will be using an output interface and it will always be a value of 0 ?
Can some gurus tell me how to intepret the above please ?
