cisco 3850 power stacking is compulsory?

Hi,

two cables are included the one is general stacking cable, other one is power stacking cable in 3850.

power stacking cable is new feature of cisco 3850 catalyst switch.

but, in case we don't want to use power stacking cable, then we can use only stacking cable for stacking up multiple 3850? 

so, just want to know if it is possible to use only stacking cable without power stacking cable for 3850 stacking like legacy 3750 switches stack.

Short answer, yes.

The 3850 stack will operate fine without the stack-power cables installed.
