I got 2 nexus 5548UPs connected together. can I use the 5548UPs as a fiber channel switch to replace my brocade? IS it an additional license of feature set that I need to purchase?

Yes, you can.  UP is "unified ports" meaning the ports can be used for Ethernet, FCOE and FC.

Just ask your sales guy about the license.  You may not even need one.
