Guys

Good afternoon

I would like to know if somebody can help me solving this problem.

Deal about a datacenter network where there is a switch 6509. In this switch at G2/41 interface is connected a server. My problem is the increase of input drops in this interface. No errors, no high utilization only input drops. I would appreciate for the help. thanks

GigabitEthernet2/41 is up, line protocol is up (connected)

  Hardware is C6k 1000Mb 802.3, address is 001f.6c91.d2b8 (bia 001f.6c91.d2b8)

  Description: W2K3TELHYP03_DADOS

MTU 1500 bytes, BW 100000 Kbit, DLY 10 usec,

     reliability 255/255, txload 1/255, rxload 1/255

  Encapsulation ARPA, loopback not set

  Keepalive set (10 sec)

  Full-duplex, 100Mb/s, media type is 10/100/1000BaseT

input flow-control is off, output flow-control is on

  Clock mode is auto

ARP type: ARPA, ARP Timeout 04:00:00

Last input never, output 00:00:38, output hang never

Last clearing of "show interface" counters 00:36:23

Input queue: 0/2000/5448/0 (size/max/drops/flushes); Total output drops: 0

  Queueing strategy: fifo

  Output queue: 0/40 (size/max)

  5 minute input rate 0 bits/sec, 0 packets/sec

Hi,

Have a look at this doc for tips on troubleshooting input queue drops.

Thank you Reza. I have already read this doc, but it didn´t help me so much. Actually this doc make me understand cause the drops occurs, but didn´t help me how solve them.

post output for command "show show queueing interface GigabitEthernet2/41"

Follow below all log´s about this interface. I have cleared the counters, however the input and output drops don´t stop.

769 input errors, 74 CRC,

This looks like a faulty NIC downstream.
