If I do an upgrade, do you know any stable IOS?

Hello John,

Not an IOS upgrade.  It's upgrading the BOOTSTRAP.  When you upgrade the bootstrap, the automated script will reboot your 870 router.  When it comes up, it will come up as "Unknown reasons".  IOS upgrade will come up normally as "Reload".

If you want to upgrade your IOS, I won't shy away from the 15.X if you have enough DRAM and Flash.

CORRECTION:  Yeah.  You have enough flash and DRAM for IOS 15.  Word of warning:  Some of the values in the Cisco Download for 15.X is not really "accurate".  I don't have the a 871 running IOS 15 at home but I've got a 871 running 15 with 24mb flash even though the website recommends I have 28 mb flash.  You'll need to test it first.  If you're still interested, let me know and I'll post what I've got.

In some cases, I see the "unknown reason" why I upgrade the bootstrap and reload the router.

Hi Leo,

If I do an upgrade, do you know any stable IOS? I'm considering an RMA probably by next week to have a quick fix.
