Cisco Dashboard Improvements

Hello, would it be possible to add the following things in newer versions of the cisco dashboard, which would save us work:
1. Would it be possible to filter the columns also using the Description port?
2. ) It is good that in Port Management you can see all SW and ports with their description, but the data can only be filtered by Device Name and Port Name. It would be great if you could search by Description or at least some export to CVS/XLSX

Thank you very much

It’s great that you’re thinking of ways to improve the Cisco dashboard for efficiency. These feature requests are practical and would enhance usability, especially for network administrators managing multiple devices and ports. Here's how your suggestions could be framed and proposed:

Suggested Features for Cisco Dashboard Enhancements:

  1. Filter Columns by Port Description:

    • Currently, filtering in the dashboard is limited to Device Name and Port Name. Expanding this to include filtering by Port Description would save time, especially when searching for specific ports based on their purpose or assigned role.

    Example Use Case:

    • If a port description includes "Uplink to Core Switch" or "VoIP Phone," being able to filter based on this description helps quickly locate and manage the required ports.

  1. Search Functionality by Port Description:

    • Adding a search bar in the Port Management view that allows searches by Port Description (in addition to Device Name and Port Name) would streamline navigation, particularly in large-scale networks.

    Example Use Case:

    • Searching for all ports with descriptions containing "Access Point" to check their status or configuration would be much easier.

  1. Export Port Management Data to CSV/XLSX:

    • Providing an export feature for Port Management data, including columns like Device Name, Port Name, Port Description, and Status, would allow network administrators to analyze, document, or share this data easily.

    Benefits:

    • Useful for reporting, documentation, or offline analysis.
    • Helps in audits or inventory tracking of port usage across the network.

How to Request These Features:

  1. Cisco Feedback Portal:

  2. Cisco Community Forums:

  3. TAC Case:

    • If you’re working with Cisco TAC on related issues, mention these ideas to your assigned engineer, who can escalate them internally.
