Hi,
I am new to REP and working on a critical site that has multiple REP Segments. Currently the REP Admin vlan is vlan 1. For network improvement/security reasons this needs to be changed with the Admin vlan command.
If I start at the end of the segment(Edge Secondary) and working backwards changing the admin vlan, what would the impact be on the segment. As mentioned new to this and trying to get my head around how it will react.
It is probably worth mentioning that these devices are 100`s of meters apart over a few K`s(Fibre connected) and don't really want to visit each switch console port.

Hello @Lee Smitherman ,
according to the following configuration guide
The REP admin vlan is used to send REP multicast messages. There is no mention of possible outage when changing the REP admin vlan.
To be noted the REP admin Vlan can be or unique per REP domain or it can be one per REP segment.
The latter should allow you to make a test between devices in a single REP segment without impacting all the switches.
Hope to help
Giuseppe

Thanks for that.
The REP guides I was reading wasn't as in depth as that. So it seems the vlan is only utilised in the event of an issue and changing should not affect REP Neighbors etc. Also good to know I can change the vlan for each segment at a time as I have some switches that are members of multiple rep segments.
Cheers, Lee.
