Hi Cisco Community!
We employ a couple of stackable CISCO SG500X-28MPP to provide networking infrastructure on large events. One of our devices does have two recurring issues:
1. The switch does not boot up due to missing MAC address, HW revision and serial number.
When connecting via console cable the error message states:
"The MAC address is not valid. You must set it now!"
To solve the issue, the MAC address, hardware revision and serial number need to be entered manually and are written to flash. The switch then decompresses SW from image-1 and will boot. Kindly see attached screenshot.
This error occured for three times over the last three years but we have no pattern how to reproduce it deliberately. It seems to happen randomly, not obviously connected to certain actions like configuration changes, reboots, factory resets.
I had suspected that longer periods of not using the switch might have lead to corruption of the flash memory, but last week it happened after rebooting the switch when it was running stable for several days.
Any way to fix this permanently? We do not always have a matching console cable and my colleagues do not know how to connect to it, so if this happens on the road we are stuck with an unusable switch.

2. The switch indicates an issue with the fan
The fan LED and logfile is indicating an issue. In fact, the fans are constantly spinning with 100% speed, so they are not broken.
Apart from that fan noise, the switch works normally and can be access via web interface or added to a stack.

Could those two problems be connected somehow? Are there replacement parts or known repair instructions?
Looking forward to your advice and greetings from Bavaria,
Alfons
