Cisco Switch interoperability with other vendor

Dear Experts,

I tried many different things to get the accurate answer for my issue. I wanted to know, will i face any connectivity or looping issue in the network if i connect Broacade SAN switch on a cisco 6500 switch.

Also need to know to maintain a DATA DOMAIN which SAN switch is better? Cisco or other vendor. Pls mention other vendor name if you have worked upon.

If there is an article over internet pls share it to me.

Hi Azeem,

1- there should nt be any loping if  you are connecting one link from broacade to the cat 6500 switch and they dont intent connect through another third party device between each other. Better to run STP to avoid any loops.

2-   There are many vendors for the same such as HP,IBM and Cisco MDS switches. Not quite sure which one would suite your business needs.
