I can see both price is same, so what is the difference between it?

Re: Cisco symbol ++= mean

Hello Anwar,

according to the datasheet below

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/switches/catalyst-6800-series-switches/datasheet-c78-733662.html?dtid=osscdc000283

There are two models of 8 x 10GE linecards, the second one using a more powerful DFC4 XL

>> Two models: C6800-8P10G, an 8-port 10-Gigabit Ethernet Fiber Module with DFC4 (Figure 3), and C6800‑8P10G-XL, an 8-port 10-Gigabit Ethernet Fiber Module with DFC4XL

I agree that there is no occurrence in cisco web site of part number C6800-8P10G++=

Have you found it on CCW  tool ?

I see both entries on the CCW and with the same comments .

The C6800-8p10G= has 28 days of lead time, the C6800-8P10G++= has 56 days of lead time and it has flagged C as configurable. Also the C6800-8P10G= has the C flag and the SVIP flag.

The Configurable refers to the SFP+ optics that can be selected with the product.

Both supports 10GE SFP+ and GLC GE ports.

the C6800-8P10G= reports HW version 2.0, the C6800-8P10G++= reports HW version 1.0.

It would be better to consider the following about the DFC4 vs. DFC4XL, if you don't need a DFC4XL I would go for the C6800-8P10G= because it is the ufficial part number and the delivery time is 28 days vs. 56 days.

IF your device needs to handle a full BGP internet table you would need the XL version of the linecard

>>

Non-XL version: comes equipped with DFC4-E for distributed forwarding, supporting:
   >>>>>>>256K IPV4 and MPLS Forwarding entries, 128K IPV6 entries
   64K IPV4/IPV6 Multicast routes
64K ACL entries (shared between QoS and security)
1M NetFlow entries (32 port card, with 2 forwarding engines)
512K NetFlow entries (8/16 port card, with 1 forwarding engine)
XL version: equipped with DFC4-EXL for distributed forwarding, supporting
   >>>>>>1M IPV4 and MPLS Forwarding entries, 512K IPV6 entries
   64K IPV4/IPV6 Multicast routes
256K ACL entries (shared between QoS and security)
2M NetFlow entries (32 port card, with 2 forwarding engines)
1M NetFlow entries (8/16 port card, with 1 forwarding engine)

Hope to help

Giuseppe
