Good morning Team,
In our enterprise network we are having an issue related with code upgrade. We run switches catalyst 2960x. The current IOS version is 15.0ex5 and we want to upgrade to 15.2E7. We do the distribution and activation of the code thru prime infrastructure. The issue is when the stack reboots come with the "SYST" lit in amber and It needs to be hard rebooted in order to clear it and come back. We tested to upgrade to 15.4E5 thinking could be the version and nothing still the same problem. Do you guys have experienced the same? maybe we are doing wrong steps to upgrade? I truly appreciate your help.

Hi,
I have seen the same thing happening occasionally during upgrades. Instead of using Prime to reload the stack, can you reload the stack from the switch-master manually and see if the same thing happens?
It also may be a good idea to open a ticket with TAC, as there may be aware of any specific issues they have seen with other customers.

Thank you.

Make sure to save the config after adding the boot variable command and before reloading.

There is a bug that has something to do with the microcode of the 15.0. When the stack gets upgraded, it needs a hard reboot. A "reload" command will cause each switch to go into ROMmon.
