Commands to check data transfer/data flow

Hello Experts,

We have ESXi virtual machine environment where we have the core switch is on Cisco nexus 7000 and server subnets below.

On Core

server - 172.16.101.x. - Apps Type X

server - 172.16.102.x - Database

server - 172.16.103.x - Apps Type Y

My query - Which cisco nexus commands on core switch I can use to identify which virtual servers are communicating, data transferring and using ports on above mentioned subnets?? where do I need run these commands?

I don't think there are any commands that will directly give you this information. Your best option is probably to configure a local SPAN session...
