Compatibility between RPS 675 and router 29XX

Hello all,

Apologies if this is not the correct place to ask this question.

Does anybody knows if cisco routers 29XX are compatible with old 675 RPS equipment (PWR675-AC-RPS-N1=)?

The only think that I'm sure is that we can connect them with an RPS cable (one side 14 pin and the other 22 pin)

That's according to their documentation. RPS 2300 (replacement for RPS 675)  is the supported platform for ISR 2900s so It might work but not fully compatible. 

"Redundant power on the Cisco 2900 Series is supported through the Cisco RPS 2300 Redundant Power System. You can use the Cisco RPS 2300 to provide redundant power for Cisco 2900 Series ISRs as well as Cisco Catalyst® switches"

 

Q. Does the Cisco RPS 2300 support all the Cisco routing and switching devices previously supported by the Cisco RPS 675?

A. Yes, the Cisco RPS 2300 is backward compatible and supports all Cisco Catalyst ® switches and Cisco integrated services routers (ISRs) that were previously supported by the Cisco RPS 675.

Keep in mind, 

  • The Cisco RPS 675 has two output levels: –48 V and 12 V. The total maximum output power is 675 W.
  • The Cisco RPS 2300 has two output levels: -52 V and 12 V. The total maximum output power depends on the installed power-supply modules.

RPS 675 is not compatible with 2900s routers. Please see attached "Cisco RPS 675 Compatibility Matrix ".

But when this document was wroten the 29XX router doesn't exist... Are you sure that they're incompatible? Does anybody tried it?
